What is co-working space?

Co-working space is an arrangement in which entrepreneurs of different companies share an office space, allowing cost savings and convenience through the use of common infrastructures, such as equipment, utilities, and receptionist and custodial services, and in some cases refreshments and parcel acceptance services.

What type of people works out of the co-working space?

We have a varied assortment of creatives that work out of the
co-working space that includes:- web developers, graphic designers, freelancers, and many more. We also have creatives such as authors, promotional speakers, and marketers. There are also marketing companies that work out of the space. You will see a wide variety of entrepreneurs and freelancers here.

What are the office hours of Ekotro?

Ekotro office hours are 10 am – 7 pm Saturday to Thursday.

Do you encourage networking?

Yes, we as a co-working office encourage and actually hope that anyone who works out of here gets to make the best connections in their field. We encourage both creatives and entrepreneurs to network. Our office is set up as a community so you can naturally network and make relations that will last you and your business a lifetime.

Where Can I Keep and Heat My Lunch?

There is a refrigerator and microwave to both keep and heat your food. So feel free to bring any snacks or meals with you.

Coffee, tea or water?

We offer our members access to a full kitchenette that includes a delicious selection of free teas along with filtered water.

I need a fast and reliable Internet Connection, what do you offer?

We have wireless Internet connections. The average Internet download speed is 35-40 mbps and the uploading speed is on average 35-40 mbps. Our Internet is fast enough to accommodate any startups/businesses.

Do you have printing services?

Yes, we have printers on-site at Ekotro. Additional payment will be required if members are printing more then 2 pages per day            (1 color, 1 B&W) upon mutual discussion.

Do you have locker services?

Yes, we have lockers on site at Ekotro. It is an additional fee of BDT 500 per month.

Are there any additional expenses that aren’t included in the fees?

There are no hidden fees or additional expenses unless otherwise agreed upon. Such as printing, mailing services or additional meeting room hours above your membership allotment.

Do you have an Open Desk membership?

We do have an open desk membership option. Memberships may utilize our flexible common space.

What’s the difference between Private Desk and a Private Cabin?

With an open desk membership, you can work at any of the tables in our common space and it is first come first served. A “Private Cabin” membership is a specific room that is yours, and you can set it up with your own desire, *T&C Apply.

Do you have a conference room that is more than just the basics?

Our co-working office is always encouraging communication and meetings. In addition to the entire office space, you can use our conference room specifically designed to house 6-8 people comfortably at additional cost.

Do I have to sign? an agreement?

We do not have a traditional agreement for our spaces, we have a membership form for use of the space.

Is there a minimum commitment?

For “Private Cabin”, we require a minimum 6-month commitment, while all other memberships are month to month.

Is a deposit required?

We do not require any deposit thus prepaid payment has to be made upon the agreement of membership subscribed.

Is parking included?

Yes, we offer free parking on site for bicycle/motorbikes only.

What if I want to sign up, but won’t be able to use my membership for a few months?

We don’t charge for membership until you are ready to use it, generally when you are ready to join, come in and see us get you.

Can I put my membership on hold?

If you are an “Open Desk” member you can put your membership on hold. If you have a “Private Cabin” you cannot as we are not able to hold a dedicated office.

Can membership be shared among few people?

Only the registered members can use Ekotro’s services & facilities. If a new member needs to be added to a firm, then the firm needs to notify Ekotro officially which will replace the old member permanently and then the new member can use the space & facilities (old member will be permanently deleted from Ekotro’s records).

Can I bring outside clients in for meetings? Do I need to book a meeting room for this?

You can absolutely bring clients in for a meeting, we do ask that you book a meeting room if you plan on meeting longer than 30 minutes.

Can I bring my kids to work with me?

At this time, we are not able to accommodate children. In instances of an emergency, we are accommodating for short durations in the workplace.

Are there any types of businesses that aren’t a good fit for Ekotro?

The businesses that aren’t a good fit for Ekotro would be retail, massage, chiropractic etc. The type of businesses that are appointment base or have frequent traffic in and out of the space.

What if I want to try co-working, but I’m not convinced it’s for me, or I’m unsure if Ekotro is the right fit for me?

Come in for a tour of our space and try it out for the day for FREE. Meet some of our members, enjoy some tea and conversation, then decide if you’d like to join. Remember there is no long-term commitment needed, try it for a month and if it’s not for you, you do not have to stay.

Is smoking/alcohol allowed?

Alcohol or any other drug substance usage/dealing is strictly prohibited in the premises. There is a smoking zone for smokers.

Can this place be a cash transaction point?

No cash transaction will be allowed in the premises.

Is any signage allowed to be displayed for different/startups/businesses?

Ekotro is one big family consisting of several startups & business, therefore so signage will be allowed.

What is the difference between Private & Flexible desk?

A Flexible desk can be used by anybody. The first person to arrive at a desk in a shared office space has a place to work for the day. The same desk may be occupied by someone else the next day and so on. Private desks are closely related to the conventional office model of positioning members in a dedicated space. The major benefit of a fixed desk is you have your own space and know where everything is.
